cname configuration help

[The Smith Family]

Windows Live Admin Center gave the following cname config:
Host: 1398269688
Value: domains.live.com

When I go to configure my dns under earthlink, there is a field for alias and destination domain.

I set alias = spaces.mydomain.com
and destination domain = domains.live.com

Is this correct? What is the Host number used for?

Is there a syntax to combine host and value?

I would like to know this as well. I have been using zone edit for some time now in conjunction google apps and blogger. But (with the exception of messing with my email/MX), I have the itch to try out live domain for my spaces

I guess I can do some trial and error though. It's either just domains.live.com or #.domains.live.com for the CNAME record I'm guessing.
